Buffalo Farm
My name is Stevie Mitchell, and I am a proud 6th-generation farmer. Due to a unique set of circumstances, I knew that if I wanted to follow my dream of ever being able to own my own farm, I needed to think outside the box. In 2005 I bought a small herd of buffalo which raised a few eyebrows. Since then it’s been an eventful rollercoaster, and we are now to be Scotland’s biggest Buffalo Farm! But the dream was always to produce Scotland’s first ever buffalo mozzarella, and in 2019 we decided to go for it. With the incredible support of the public, our crowdfunding campaign raised over £800K. In 2021 we produced the first Scottish Buffalo Mozzarella. Our channel will share our stories and let you see what goes on at the farm and behind the scenes. We also want it to help us to connect and learn from other farmers and have a little bit of fun along the way. We are also hoping to inspire some more Scottish farms to consider working with buffalo and joining us on our adventure.
