Welcome to Civil Engineering with Tanya J Laird. The goal of this channel is to offer long form, in-depth lectures in topics of civil engineering, general engineering, and related skills and tools useful for engineering students and practitioners. My own background is in civil engineering (structures.) I've completed a Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil Engineering, and a Masters in Education. I've worked for several years as a practicing structural engineering and civil engineering instructor, and have many years of experience tutoring students in engineering and other STEM subjects. I'm currently enrolled in a PhD program in civil engineering and wood science at Oregon State University.
