Classical and Ancient Civilization
Classical and Ancient Civilization began life about 16 years ago as a teaching aid for my Classics students. I gave up teaching in 2016 but kept the channel on to support my books aad lecturing. However, I know longer lecture (apart from the odd gig in Australia), and am winding down the writing. Meanwhile, the channel has been given a temporary stay of execution, but the plan is that minimal additional content will be uploaded and that it will eventually be removed. What's not generally appreciated is that videos take an enormous amount of time to create. Secondly, the technical standard of YT vidoes is improving dramatically and that requires ongoing investment. The amount the channel earns is a trifle and doesn't come close to financing the necessary hardware and software. I'm aware the technical standard of my videos is looking increasingly weak. YT's algorithms are designed to coerce crreators into frantically creating content and upping technical standards.
