Fluid Health and Fitness

Overview A few of the primary goals we should all include in our exercise programs are to prevent injury and reduce or eliminate pain. This comes before any goal of weight loss, muscle building or performance enhancement. If you get hurt, none of these other goals matter because you won’t be able to continue to train. That’s why we focus on corrective exercise. This is a term used to describe the process of identifying musculoskeletal or neurologic dysfunctions, creating a plan of action to address the concerns, then implementing a corrective strategy of mobility and strength exercises to correct for them. What is functional movement? In a word, movement. Functional integrated training attempts to adapt or develop exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injuries. Once this can be accomplished, additional resistance is added through weights or exercise tubing to develop strength, speed, or agility.
