Neophyte Boatwrights
My friend Madison and I (Murphy) are building a traditional wooden boat called the Newfoundland Trap Skiff (NTS). The NTS was designed by Walter J. Simmons of Lincolnshire, Maine. This channel serves as both a journal of the build as well as a thorough presentation of all the information I have gathered and learned throughout the process. The goal is to share what I have had to dig through books and whatever other resources to find out, and thus spare you the trouble. We also want to underscore the boatbuilding and sailing culture in the US, and so have periodic "cultural" episodes where we interview other builders and people involved in the maritime trades.
