Simon Springer grew up in Innsbruck, Austria. After his classical training he went on to study Jazz and popular music in Innsbruck and Vienna, after moving there in 2012. Over the past decade Simon developed into an experienced, popular and fine player throughout many different genres of music, working with both national and international artists. He is mainly known for his work in jazz, fusion and contemporary music (Gene Pritsker, Rens Newland, River, Jakob Zimmermann Trio etc.), his work in the pop music scene (Gert Steinbäcker, Wolfgang Ambros, Schiffkowitz, Christian Kolonovits, Schick Sisters, Franz Morak, KØLEEN etc.) and his work in the musical theatre business (Volksoper Wien, Theater in der Josefstadt, Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, Seefestspiele Mörbisch etc.). Besides live and studio work, Simon teaches at the Joseph Haydn University and privately. He has won several prices, performed at a variety of international music festivals and toured the globe in four continents.
