Living locally but thinking globally, Word of Life Christian Center is impacting Las Vegas, this nation, and the world through its television ministry and support of missions. It continues to spread the "Good News" of the Gospel by giving hope to the hopeless and victory for the future. Word of Life Christian Center was conceived in the hearts of Pastors David and Vicki Shearin, who moved to Las Vegas and founded this church in the fall of 1982. Their first services were held in a home with only five people and slowly began to grow to larger locations like hotel meeting rooms, a storefront property, and then a leased building. In 1986 Pastor David presented the vision of Word of Life Christian Center and with a committed congregation began to prepare for expansion. In March of 1990, foreseeing rapid growth in northwest Las Vegas, two acres of land was purchased.
